Exponential map of a Lie group
Summary
Let be a Lie group with Lie algebra . The exponential map sends to the value at time of the one-parameter subgroup with initial velocity . For matrix groups it is the matrix exponential. It restricts to a diffeomorphism from a neighbourhood of onto a neighbourhood of the identity. So it carries information from the Lie algebra to the group. It is the main tool for passing between Lie groups and Lie algebras, and it differs in general from the exponential map of Riemannian geometry.

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
- a source with a locator (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
