Harmonic analysis on Euclidean spaces Definition
Gabor frame
Builds on Short-time Fourier transformLp space
Definition
For and , let and . Let be nonzero and let . The Gabor system is the family . It is a Gabor frame if it is a frame of : there are constants with
Remarks
The coefficients are the values of the short-time Fourier transform on the lattice . If is a frame, then ; for it is a frame only if it is a Riesz basis. For the Gaussian , the system is a frame exactly when , a result of Lyubarskii and of Seip.
Example: let and . The translates are the indicators of the intervals , which tile . On each such interval the functions , , form an orthonormal basis of . So is an orthonormal basis of , hence a Gabor frame with .
Non-example: with , and , every function in the system vanishes on . So a nonzero supported in has all coefficients , and the lower frame bound fails.

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
- a source with a locator (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
