Hypergeometric series
Builds on Pochhammer symbolPower seriesRadius of convergence
Definition
Let with . For and an integer , let be the Pochhammer symbol, with . The hypergeometric series is the power series
Remarks
If or is a non-positive integer , then or vanishes for and the series is a polynomial of degree at most . Otherwise the ratio test gives radius of convergence . On the circle the series converges absolutely when .
Example: for , , the coefficient is , so for . Also by the binomial series.
Non-example: is excluded, because for every and the coefficients are undefined. For a negative integer the series is still meaningful when with and the sum is cut at , but this needs a separate convention.
The notation is also common.

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
- a source with a locator (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
