Partially ordered ring
Builds on RingPartial order
Definition
Let be a ring and let be a partial order on . The pair is a partially ordered ring if for all :
- if , then ;
- if and , then .
Remarks
Example: with componentwise addition and multiplication and the componentwise order is a partially ordered ring. Clause 1 holds coordinatewise, and the product of nonnegative real numbers is nonnegative, which gives clause 2. Non-example: with the reversed order satisfies clause 1 but not clause 2. Indeed , but and . The set is the positive cone. It satisfies , and , and the order is recovered as .

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
- a source with a locator (0 of 1)
