Polyharmonic spline

Summary

A polyharmonic spline is a sum of translates of one radial basis function φ(∥x∥)\varphi(\norm{x}) on ℝd\R^d plus a low degree polynomial. The radial function is r2m−dr^{2m-d} or r2m−dlog⁡rr^{2m-d} \log r, a multiple of the fundamental solution of the iterated Laplacian Δm\Delta^m in ℝd\R^d. Polyharmonic splines solve scattered data interpolation with minimal "energy", and the thin plate spline is the best known case.

What this page needs for W1

  • an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
  • a source with a locator (0 of 1)

The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
