Summary

The Laplacian of a twice differentiable function on ℝn\mathbb{R}^n is the divergence of its gradient. It measures how the value of the function at a point differs from its average value on small spheres around the point.

Reading path

To understand this page from the ground up, read these 11 pages in order. The foundations come first.

Show the path as a graph
Each page uses the pages above it. The colour of the bar on a box shows how strong the evidence is, and the box also gives it as text. The list has the same pages.

What this page needs for W2

  • edge instance_of in: at least two examples (0 of 2)
  • edge not_instance_of in: at least one non-example (0 of 1)
  • edge specializes both: the more general notions and the special cases (0 of 1)

The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
