Several complex variables and analytic spaces Definition
Pluriharmonic function
Builds on Harmonic function
Definition
Let be an open set. A function of class is pluriharmonic if where and for .
Remarks
Equivalently, for all and , the function is harmonic where it is defined. Example: for a holomorphic is pluriharmonic, because and give . Non-example: has . Conversely, on a ball, or more generally on a simply connected domain, every pluriharmonic function is the real part of a holomorphic function; on other domains this holds locally. A pluriharmonic function is real analytic. The condition can be written .
