Definition
A residuated lattice is a structure such that:
The operations and are the left residual and the right residual.
Remarks
Clause 3 says that is the largest with , and is the largest with . Example: a Heyting algebra with , and is a residuated lattice. Clause 3 is then the defining rule of the Heyting implication. Example: the group with , , , and is a residuated lattice, since . Non-example: with , , ordinary multiplication and satisfies clauses 1 and 2, but has no left residual. For and , every satisfies , and has no largest element. Many authors also require to be bounded, or the monoid to be commutative, in which case is written . Multiplication in a residuated lattice is monotone and distributes over all existing joins.

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
- a source with a locator (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
