Unimodular group

Summary

A unimodular group is a locally compact group whose left Haar measure is also right-invariant, that is, whose modular function is identically 11. Abelian groups, compact groups, discrete groups, semisimple Lie groups and connected nilpotent Lie groups are unimodular. Many results of harmonic analysis, such as the existence of lattices or the simplest form of trace formulas, require unimodularity.

What this page needs for W1

  • an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
  • a source with a locator (0 of 1)

The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
