Green's function for the Laplacian
Summary
The Green's function of a domain for the Laplacian is the potential of a unit point charge in the domain. The boundary of the domain is held at potential zero. In a plane domain with pole , it is a function that behaves like near . It is harmonic elsewhere and vanishes on the boundary. It solves the Poisson equation with zero boundary values: . In free space the corresponding function is , the fundamental solution of the three-variable Laplace equation. Green's functions give integral formulas for the Dirichlet problem and are invariant under conformal maps in the plane.

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
- a source with a locator (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
