Holomorphic map

Definition
Let be an open set and let be a map with components . The map is holomorphic if each component , , is a holomorphic function on . If , a holomorphic map is a holomorphic map with .
Remarks
Equivalently, is differentiable at each point in the real sense, and its derivative is -linear. This derivative is given by the complex Jacobian matrix , an matrix. Example: is holomorphic from to , since both components are polynomials. Non-example: is not holomorphic, since its second component fails the Cauchy–Riemann equation . Compositions of holomorphic maps are holomorphic, by the chain rule.
