Laplace transform of the Dirac delta
Builds on Laplace transformDirac delta functionDirac measureLaplace–Stieltjes transform
Example
Let and let be the Dirac delta at , that is, the Dirac measure that gives mass to the point . The delta is not a function, so its Laplace transform is defined as the Laplace–Stieltjes transform of the measure. The point is included in the domain of integration: Check: integrating a continuous function against evaluates it at , and is continuous. In particular , with the convention that the lower limit is . This is consistent with the Laplace transform of the step , which is . Indeed, the delta is the derivative of the step, and differentiation multiplies the transform by when the initial value is .

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
- a source with a locator (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
