Moore family
Definition
Let be a set and let be a family of subsets of , that is, a subset of the power set of . The family is a Moore family on when both conditions hold.
- .
- For each nonempty subfamily , the intersection lies in .
Remarks
The closed sets of a topological space form a Moore family: is closed, and any intersection of closed sets is closed. The open sets of do not: the open intervals for have intersection , which is not open. If is a Moore family, then is a closure operator on the subsets of . Its closed sets are exactly the members of . Conversely, the closed sets of any closure operator on the subsets of form a Moore family. With the convention that the empty intersection is , the two conditions merge into one: is closed under all intersections. Other names are closure system and intersection-closed family.

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
- a source with a locator (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
