Conjunction

Builds on Proposition

Definition

Let pp and qq be propositions. The conjunction of pp and qq is the proposition p∧qp \land q, read "pp and qq". The proposition p∧qp \land q is true when pp is true and qq is true. In all other cases, p∧qp \land q is false.

Remarks

Conjunction is commutative and associative: p∧qp \land q has the same truth value as q∧pq \land p. The intersection of two sets uses conjunction: x∈A∩Bx \in A \cap B means x∈A∧x∈Bx \in A \land x \in B.

To understand this page from the ground up, read these 2 pages in order. The foundations come first.

Each page uses the pages above it. The colour of the bar on a box shows how strong the evidence is, and the box also gives it as text. The list has the same pages.

What this page needs for W2

  • edge instance_of in: one example (0 of 1)
  • edge not_instance_of in: one non-example that fails one clause (0 of 1)

The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
