Limit point
Builds on Topological spaceOpen set
Definition
Let be a topological space, let and let . The point is a limit point of when each open set with contains a point of other than .
Remarks
The point need not be in . In , the point is a limit point of . In a metric space, is a limit point of if and only if each ball contains a point of . The closure of is the union of and the set of its limit points. A point of that is not a limit point of is an isolated point of .
