Normal convergence
Builds on Series of functionsWeierstrass M-test
Definition
Let be a set and let be bounded functions for . The series of functions converges normally on if
Remarks
By the Weierstrass M-test, a normally convergent series converges absolutely and uniformly on . The converse fails. For constant functions , the series converges uniformly but not normally. René Baire introduced the concept in 1908.
