Convergent sequence

Builds on Limit of a sequence

Definition

A real sequence (an)(a_n) is convergent if it converges to some real number LL. Here convergence is in the sense of the limit of a sequence.

Remarks

The sequences 1/(n+1)1/(n+1) and (n+1)/(n+2)(n+1)/(n+2) are convergent, with limits 00 and 11. The constant sequence an=ca_n = c converges to cc. A sequence that is not convergent is a divergent sequence.

Each page uses the pages above it. The colour of the bar on a box shows how strong the evidence is, and the box also gives it as text. The list has the same pages.
