Trigonometric integrals
Builds on Sine and cosineImproper integralEuler–Mascheroni constant
Definition
Let and be the sine and cosine functions.
- The sine integral is the function given by where the integrand is given the value at .
- The cosine integral is the function on given by the improper integral
- The hyperbolic sine integral and hyperbolic cosine integral are for real and for , where is the Euler–Mascheroni constant.
Remarks
Equivalently, for .
Example: is odd, , and by the Dirichlet integral. The largest value of on is .
Non-example: is not a valid definition of ; it diverges at because there. This is why is defined from , and it has a logarithmic singularity at .
The shifted function is also used.
