Measure and integration Product measures Theorem
Tonelli's theorem
Builds on Fubini's theoremIterated integral
Statement
Let be Lebesgue measurable. Then and are measurable functions with values in , and The three values may be .
Remarks
Tonelli's theorem has the same conclusion as Fubini's theorem. It replaces integrability of by the hypothesis . In practice, one applies Tonelli's theorem to to check that , and then applies Fubini's theorem to . More generally, the theorem holds for non-negative measurable functions on a product of two -finite measure spaces. For counting measure on , it says that when all . Leonida Tonelli published this variation of Fubini's theorem in 1909.
