Special functions Gamma function and related functions Example
Particular values of the gamma function
Builds on Gamma function
Example
Here are some values of the gamma function.
| , | |
Checks. The first row is the gamma function extends the factorial. The value at is Gamma of one half. The functional equation gives the others: , and , and . For the general half-integer formula gives , in agreement.
Values at other rational points are less explicit, but the reflection formula gives products:
Remarks
The values and are known to be transcendental numbers. The value appears in the arc length of the lemniscate and in elliptic integrals.

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
- a source with a locator (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
