Hölder continuity

Summary

A map between metric spaces is Hölder continuous with exponent α\alpha when d(f(x),f(y))≤C d(x,y)αd(f(x), f(y)) \le C \, d(x, y)^\alpha for some constant CC and all x,yx, y. For α=1\alpha = 1 this is the Lipschitz condition.
