Mathematical logic and foundations Definition
Surjective function
Definition
Let be a function. The function is surjective when, for each , there is an with .
Remarks
Other names are onto function and surjection. Equivalently, the range of is the whole codomain . The function on is surjective, and on is not, because is not a value.
